A live concert on the banks of the Bosphorus, halfway between West and East, to pay tribute to an unforgettable master of Italian and international music. Ennio Morricone will be the soundtrack of the concert that will feature Stefano Di Battista and his quartet in performance on 14 September, at the Sultan Park at Swiss Hotel in Istanbul, on the occasion of the 28th International Jazz Festival.
Promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute of Istanbul in collaboration with the IKSV Foundation, the live concert will be an opportunity to listen to the legendary saxophonist Di Battista together with Fred Nardin on the piano, Daniele Sorrentino on double bass and André Ceccarelli on percussion.
Stefano Di Battista, one of the leading alto saxophonists in European jazz today, began playing at the age of 13, influenced by the music of Art Pepper and Cannonball Adderley. At a turning point of his career, he had the unique opportunity to work alongside Ennio Morricone, to whom he dedicated his twelve-track album ‘Morricone Stories‘, released this spring.
