After the success of the first edition, Music For Uncertain Times returns from 21 June 2022 with three new episodes that bring into dialogue the beauty of Italy’s cultural heritage with the new scenarios of musical creativity.

A journey through Italy, a story in stages produced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in which we question the uncertainty of our times, trying to respond with the universal and impromptu language of music and art.

The project, conceived by Andrea Lai and directed by Francesco Coppola, is enriched this year by an innovative element: at each stage of this itinerary through Italian culture, the singers will share the stage with international artists.

Colapesce and Dimartino paired with Ana Mena perform in the Art Nouveau spaces of the Kursaal Theatre in Bari, Samuel and Jeremiah Fraites of The Lumineers in the setting of Dancing Le Roi in Turin, and Gaia paired with Lous and the Yakuza in the Villa Aldrovandi-Mazzacorati Theatre in Bologna.

Against the backdrop of exclusive locations – whose artistic value is enhanced by the cinematographic narration – Music For Uncertain Times photographs the music industry and its players, fostering interactions between international artists and promoting the visibility of Italian music worldwide.

Colapesce and Dimartino paired with Ana Mena

Colapesce & Di-martino perform with Ana Mena singing "Musica Leggerissima", which be-came a success in Spain thanks to the Iberian artist. The Liberty set-ting created by engineer Orazio Santalucia in the Kursaal Santalucia theatre in Bari welcomes the three artists who perform the piece live together for the first time, in an exclusive acoustic version.

Gaia paired with Lous and the Yakuza

Gaia with Lous and the Yakuza sing "Mi sono innamorato di te" in a strings and guitar acoustic version, at the Villa Aldrovandi Mazzacorati theatre in Bolo-gna. The finest and most well-preserved example of a private theatre that exists in an eighteenth-century villa in Europe, it has the best for acoustics by far, making the Tenco piece intimate and giving it in-credible emotional impact.

Samuel and Jeremiah Fraites of The Lumineers

Samuel together with Jeremiah Fraites of The Lumineers perform a version of "E invece", a solo piece from Samuel's album. They are accompanied by Bandakadabra, an eight-piece marching band. Their performance takes place at the Dancing Le Roi in Turin, a rite of passage for the stars of the Six-ties. Its detail designed by Carlo Mollino (who also designed the Audi-torium Rai Arturo Toscanini in Turin in 1952) make it the most eclectic of his projects, made of mosaics, ladders and wrought iron games. A place suspended in time, the repository of a unique story.
