‘New luxury means sustainability’: a workshop in Tirana

Categories: Culture and creativity -Design and Architecture
A creative workshop offering participants the opportunity to develop an architecture and interior design project with a focus on the challenges of the future.

The workshop ‘New luxury means sustainability, an innovative suite for AQUATIO Cave Luxury Hotel & Spa’ is a creative and professional workshop designed to offer participants the opportunity to enter the design world of Simone Micheli Architectural Hero. From the concept, to the project design, all the way to the development of a visual identity (logo-brand identity) and communication (client presentation, social media etc.).

Charming luxury suites have taken shape within the marvellous sassi of the city of Matera, European Capital of Culture in 2019. Attention to the space around has been combined with respect for local tradition and has enhanced the meeting of eras. Aquatio’s suites are an effective example of how avant-garde and history, when approached with knowledge and courage, can create a skilful mix, capable of generating unique works.

Architect Simone Micheli will present his project with the intention of demonstrating the essential principles for creating an accommodation facility in the contemporary era. Sustainability, innovation and the ability to fit into the relevant historical and cultural context by using tradition as a tool for rethinking the future will be the focus of the architect’s reflections and those of Roberta Colla Micheli, the company’s CEO.

During the workshop, instructors will guide participants in developing their own suite concept, with which each participant can put forward ideas for a sustainable future.  Participants will then have 15 days to send their concepts to the company, so that they can receive a personalised assessment of their work.

The best projects will be displayed during “Hybrid Restaurant”, the event that architect Simone Micheli will create for the FuoriSalone in Milan 2022.

The workshop is aimed at undergraduates and graduates in Architecture and Interior design who wish to explore the design of spaces for contemporary hospitality, not only with regard to the design approach, but also to the graphics, visuals and communication of the work.
