On 22 November the Italian Cultural Institute of Brussels will be screening the film ‘Nilde Iotti. Il tempo delle donne‘ by director Peter Marcias.
The documentary is a journey in the company of an emblematic figure from the 20th century, who marked the milestones of collective growth and defined the time of women. Through archive images, first-hand accounts by those who knew her and her thoughts voiced by actress Paola Cortellesi, the human and political life of Nilde Iotti deviates from the biographical path and pierces the heart of human existence.
The film is shown as part of the event Seven insights into Italian cinema in collaboration with the Biografilm Festival, which since 2005 has been offering its audience the best of recently produced documentaries with a particular focus on biographies.
An initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the event ‘Seven insights into Italian cinema’ offers an original overview of Italian film production dedicated to topical themes and has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of seven prestigious Italian festivals.
