From 6 April to 8 June, Italian Cultural Institute of São Paulo presents the online course curated by Oscar Marzorati entitled ‘Potenze e Dinastie’ (Powers and Dynasties).
The course aims to offer a journey through the main political forces and dynasties that have shaped Italian history and decided the fate of wars, politics, art and culture throughout the world.
Each meeting tells the story of some of the most important families of the Western world, exploring the era in which they lived. The course does not aim to present the facts in a didactic and linear way, but to highlight some essential elements of a past characterised by art, culture and power, and of which we are still experiencing the consequences today.
The course programme covers the Republics of Venice and Genoa, the great ruling families of Savoy, Altavilla and Bourbon, and the influential noble families of Farnese and Colonna.
