The Italian Cultural Institute of Sofia is taking part in the sixth edition of the project ‘Poetry in the subway’ 2021, which will take place from 8 November to 20 December. The event is organized by EUNIC Sofia, the network of European Cultural Institutes.
In the Sofia subway, you will be able to read 14 poems in the original language, with a Bulgarian translation. This year Italy is taking part with the poem ‘Sulla riva’ by Mario Luzi. In this work, Luzi revives the literary topos of the storm to depict a humanity of which the poet feels an integral part, always poised between fear and hope.
