The Italian Cultural Institute of Prague introduces a fascinating literary journey through the Bohemian city, in the company of Franco Cardini, one of the most influential and esteemed Italian historians.
The result of a long and tumultuous inner journey, ‘Praga. Capitale segreta d’Europa’ (Prague. Secret capital of Europe) is an organic collection of research, impressions, feelings, associations of ideas, travels, images and memories related to the city of Prague. Cardini proposes that the city makes up one part of an ideal ‘civic trinity’ along with Florence and Vienna, which transcends historical and phenomenological differences.
To mark the presentation of this essay, recently published in Italy by Il Mulino, the author will take part in an online discussion with Giovanni Sciola, former director of the Italian Cultural Institute of Prague.
The meeting is in Italian with simultaneous translation into Czech.
