To mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Raffaello Sanzio, the Italian Cultural Institute of Zagreb is dedicating an exhibition to the Renaissance master, to be held at the city’s Museum of Art and Crafts from 24 April to 6 June, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Zagreb and the Fondazione Brescia Musei.
The exhibition showcases a selection of 110 prints, drawings and majolica preserved in the collections of the Civic Museums of Brescia: the focus is on Raphael’s engravings and the influence they had on later artists. In fact, the exhibition follows the success of Raphael’s engravings throughout Europe, without neglecting extremely significant works such as the prints created according to the frescoes of the Vatican Rooms and Loggias.
During the opening period of the exhibition you can book guided tours, get involved in workshops and attend the screening of the film ‘Raphael – The Lord of the Arts 3D’ (2017).
All information on the exhibition can be found on the website of the Italian Cultural Institute of Zagreb.
