In ‘Leksikon om lys og mørke’ (‘Keep saying their names’), the author Simon Stranger tells the story of a Jewish family that chooses to move into the headquarters of the Nazi Henry Rinnan after the war, in a house that has become a symbol of evil. But the book is also about survival, loyalty and how to go on living. The novel has now been published in Italian by Einaudi with the title ‘Il solo modo per dirsi addio’.
On the occasion of Remembrance Day, the writer, in conversation with the literary critic and translator Preben Jordal, will talk about light and the darkness, and the choices that everyone has to make. Stranger and Jordal will discuss Primo Levi, the writer and chemist who survived the German camps, and the influence his work has had on Stranger’s own work.
The talk will be streamed live on the Institute’s Facebook page.
