From 25 October to 24 November, the Italian Cultural Institute of Moscow will be showing the documentary ‘Televezzoli’ on its Vimeo channel.
The documentary was made for the exhibition ‘TV 70: Francesco Vezzoli guarda la Rai’ in Milan, at the Fondazione Prada, from 9 May to 24 September 2017, and was broadcast by Sky Arte HD for the duration of the exhibition.
The exhibition, which occupied all the rooms at the Fondazione Prada, staged the artist’s view of 1970s television, from individual experience to collective mythologies. Divided into three sections, it looks at the relationship of Italian public television with art, politics and entertainment, through a succession of intangible documents from the Rai archives combined with the materiality of paintings, sculptures and installations.
In the documentary, the exhibition is discussed by the artist himself, with contributions from Cristiana Perrella, the associate curator of the exhibition, Marco Senaldi, consultant, Astrid Welter, the programming manager at the Fondazione Prada, Mathias Augustyniak, designer from the firm M/M who designed the installation, the art critic Germano Celant and the architect Stefano Boeri.
