More than half of the Earth’s population lives in cities, constantly on the move. Cities are constantly changing and, along with them, our lives inevitably change too.
‘The City’ is a virtual exhibition project, promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute of St. Petersburg and curated by Anastasia Patsej and Olesja Bessmeltseva.
Twelve artists and creative groups from Europe and Russia worked for 6 weeks in a virtual residence based on the #VirtualSPAR platform, investigating how art helps to rethink and transform modern cities. On the one hand an imagined ‘City’, on the other a real ‘City’. The portal leads the viewer immediately into one of the twelve districts of the ‘City’, which can then be explored independently.
In this framwork, the Italian artist Filippo Fabbri presented the ‘Camera Urbana’ project, which presents the experience of studying a multiplicity of meta-surfaces of the contemporary urban space. Daniele Leonardo participates with the project ‘Fiftieth Day’.
The exhibition will run until 30 November on the dedicated website The City.
