On October 10 the Ambassador of Italy to Qatar Alessandro Prunas and Professor Alba Cappellieri inaugurated ‘Diva! Italian Glamour in Fashion Jewellery’, brought to Qatar by the Embassy of Italy in Doha.
The exhibition will remain open to the public until October 24 2021 at ART29, the vibrant art space located at W Doha Hotel & Residences.
The beautiful collection curated by Alba Cappellieri, Professor of Jewellery Design at the Polytechnic University of Milan and Director of the Vicenza Museum of Jewellery, features 200 jewels describing the history of Italian fashion jewellery from the 1950s until today and showing the style evolution and the social and cultural transformations of the Country.
On the October 11 Professor Cappellieri met at ART 29 a group of students and teachers from the Department of Fashion Design & Merchandising of Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar for a lecture on art, fashion and design in Italian Jewellery and a guided visit to the exhibition.
