As part of the Week of the Italian Language in Bratislava, the exhibition ‘L’ombra del beato regno’ (The Shadow of the Blessed Kingdom) is being held at the University Library from 13 to 28 October. Curated by Cesare Pomarici, the exhibition offers a reinterpretation of the Divine Comedy in images through the work of two contemporary artists: the illustrator Mario Sughi (nerosunero) and the painter Andrea Mario Bert.
From 18 to 21 October Dante will be arriving in high schools in Bratislava thanks to the Italian Cultural Institute, which has invited the well-known actor Robert ‘Robo’ Roth to read passages from the Divine Comedy and other poems by Dante in Slovak. The coordinator of the project is Miroslava Vallova, President of the Dante Alighieri Society of Bratislava.
Furthermore, throughout the Week, videos with Slovak and Italian personalities talking about the relationship of their work to the Supreme Poet will be available on the Institute’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
