On the occasion of the centenary of his birth, the Italian Cultural Institute of Paris is paying tribute to Leonardo Sciascia with a meeting moderated by Paolo Grossi (Cahiers de l’Hôtel de Galliffet – Comitato Nazionale Centenario Sciasciano) and introduced by Francesco Izzo (Sciasciano Centenary National Committee).
Taking part in the dialogue will be Domenico Scarpa, with a presentation of the essay collection ‘Stendhal for ever: Écrits 1970-1989‘, published by the Cahiers de l’Hôtel de Galliffet, and Davide Luglio, professor at the Université Paris-Sorbonne, who will explore the connections between the great Sicilian author and Michel Foucault.
The Paris event is part of ‘Lezioni sciasciane nel mondo‘ (Sciascian Lessons in the World), an initiative promoted by the Comitato Nazionale per le celebrazioni del centenario della nascita di Leonardo Sciascia, chaired by Senator Emma Bonino, and by the Associazione Amici di Leonardo Sciascia, in collaboration with the University for Foreigners of Perugia and the Istituto della Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani and with the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
