Dakar has hosted the last stage of the world tour of ‘Opera Omnia Leonardo’, which has travelled to 14 countries and three continents starting in 2019, the year of the commemoration of  the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death.

The exhibition, organised by the Italian Cultural Institute of Dakar in collaboration with the Italian Embassy, the Museum of Black Civilisations and Rai Com, is on display at the Museum of Black Civilisations from 17 January to 7 March 2021 and displays 17 of Leonardo’s most famous  paintings and murals, in full-size replicas created using HD Digital Painting technology. It is a unique opportunity to admire in a privileged location some of the artist’s most famous frescoes, including the monumental Last Supper from the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, the Mona Lisa, the Lady with the Ermine, the Virgin of the Rocks, The Annunciation, the Portrait of a Lady, the Virgin and Child with Saint Anne.
