On October 4, while the Italian Sustainable Development Festival takes place, the Embassy of Italy in Algeria and the Italian Cultural Institute of Algiers organized an in-person seminar dedicated to the collaboration between United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and Algeria in the implementation of Goal 16 of the 2030 Agenda (peace, justice and strong institutions).
The event is held at the Institute of Culture and sees the participation of the Ambassador of Italy in Algeria, Giovanni Pugliese, the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute of Algiers, Antonia Grande, the Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Algeria, Agostino Mulas, and the Head of the Humanitarian Office of the European Commission in Algeria, Samuel Marie-Fanon.
In its fifth edition, the Festival of Sustainable Development is the largest Italian initiative to raise awareness and mobilize citizens, younger generations, businesses, associations and institutions on issues of economic, social and environmental sustainability, to spread the culture of sustainability and achieve a cultural and political change that will allow Italy to implement the United Nations Agenda 2030 and achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
This year the Festival doesn’t stop at national borders, instead it opens to the whole world. Therefore the collaboration with the Italian diplomatic offices and the Italian Cultural Institutes continues with the aim of spreading the messages of the event abroad.
