The Italian Cultural Institute of Sao Paulo presents the second edition of ‘Scena – Review of Italian Contemporary Theatre in Sao Paulo’ from 10 to 15 May in collaboration with the SESC Pompéia.
The event, curated by Rachel Brumana, focuses on female artistic production and brings together artists, playwrights, directors and thinkers who move between the performance scene, the visual arts, artistic and academic training and political and artistic activism.
Without adhering to classifications limited to the genre, the programme develops in forms and themes that include different ideas of bodies, belonging, transitions and displacements .
The scheduled shows are: ‘Gentle Unicorn’ and ‘The Animal’ by Chiara Bersani, ‘Tiresias’ by Kae Tempest with Giorgina Pi & Blue Motion , and ‘Curva Cieca’ by Muna Mussie.
The meeting entitled ‘Sororidade’ supplements the event.
‘Sororidade’ , in Italian sisterhood , is a concept that crosses the curatorial proposal and its different forms of collaboration. In this edition, in addition to presenting the Italian productions, there will be collaborations between Italian and Brazilian artists in meetings to share research and plan new collaborations.
