As part of the initiatives planned for the 21st edition of the Week of the Italian Language in the World, which this year is dedicated Dante, the Italian Cultural Institute of Lyon is organising a screening of ‘The Sky over Kibera’.

A documentary film by Marco Martinelli, founder of the Teatro delle Albe with Ermanna Montanari, ‘The Sky over Kibera’ chronicles the staging of the Divine Comedy in Kibera, a vast slum in the city of Nairobi.

Three teenagers play Dante, Virgilio and Beatrice and guide the public through the labyrinth of the city, in a journey that updates and reaffirms the visionary power and the universal character of Dante’s poem.
