The Italian Cultural Institute of Tunis presents an exhibition dedicated to Vico Magistretti on the centenary of his birth.
Celebrated a year late due to the pandemic, the anniversary was commemorated with two successful exhibitions at the Fondazione Vico Magistretti and the Triennale Milano.
With the intention of continuing to promote and develop the legacy left by Magistretti and Made in Italy products, Italian design and Italian architecture, the Fondazione Magistretti has organized the travelling exhibition ‘100 anni di Vico Magistretti’ designed for the network of Italian Cultural Institutes around the world.
The exhibition starts from the archive – a site of preservation but also a generator of stories, interpretations, studies and insights – which has been the subject of in-depth research and exploration since the year in which the designer died.
In 2020, the launch of the portal archivio.vicomagistretti.it online made the wealth of the Fondazione’s documentary and design heritage available to all.
The exhibition covers Magistretti’s sixty-year career: from the most famous to the lesser-known projects, from architecture in Milan and elsewhere to products that have entered thousands and thousands of homes around the world.
