The Week of Italian Language in the World opens in Warsaw on Monday, October 18, with a lecture by Natascia Tonelli (University of Siena) titled ‘From Francesca to Beatrice, the Ways of Desire‘, on Dante and women in the Divine Comedy.
It continues on Wednesday, October 20 with a second lecture by Luigi Marinelli (La Sapienza), ‘It is better to fall with Alighieri than to triumph with Nogaret‘, on Dante’s reception in Poland.
On Thursday, October 21, Maestro Michele Sganga gives a lesson on Liszt and Dante, with examples played live at the piano.
On Friday, October 22, within the framework of Dante’s Year in Poland, Massimiliano Caldi will conduct the Symphony Orchestra of the Philharmonic of Łódź in a program including works by Tchaikovsky and Camille Saint-Saëns.
