obra-a-color-1

To mark the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri, the Italian Cultural Institute of Mexico City and the Lodie Foundation for Art and Culture present, in collaboration with Studio Suzán, the exhibition ‘Tres Tiempos’ by Gerardo Suzán, (Mexico City, 1962), an illustrator, painter and professor, whose works have been published by both Mexican and international publishers.

The exhibition consists of a series of works inspired by the three canticles of the ‘Divine Comedy’. The first section illustrates the process that led to the creation of the works through sketches and preparatory drawings in black and white, allowing the public to enter into the artist’s workshop and explore his sources of inspiration. The second presents the works themselves, in which Suzán graphically and with great freedom of expression represents the circles of hell, the terraces of purgatory and the skies of paradise. Finally, the third section offers an approach to poetry through graphics.
