After stops in Yekaterinburg and Berlin, arriving at the Sala Mercadal of the Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos (COAM) in Madrid is the exhibition ‘Olivetti Universe. Comunità come utopia concreta‘ (Olivetti Universe. Community as a Concrete Utopia).

The exhibition is presented by the Italian Cultural Institute of Madrid, under the auspices of the Embassy of Italy, on the occasion of the 18th Architecture Week – organized by the COAM Foundation in collaboration with the Official College of Architects of Madrid and the Municipality of Madrid, which for the first time celebrates an invited country: Italy.

Promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with Fondazione MAXXI and Fondazione Olivetti, the exhibition aims to delve into one of the fundamental figures of the Italian twentieth century: Adriano Olivetti who, by combining the production process, social responsibility and attention to the urban area, has created a unique business model that is still relevant today.

On 7 October the opening of the exhibition will be preceded by the round table ‘Ivrea e Olivetti: la politica del progetto‘ (Ivrea and Olivetti: the politics of the project) featuring Pippo Ciorra and Francesca Limana, curators of the exhibition, and Rafael Garcia, Professor of Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
