The Italian Cultural Institute of Buenos Aires and the Fundación Cinemateca Argentina are organising a film festival entitled ‘Viva Fellini’ dedicated to the memory of the great director.

The screenings will include three of the Italian maestro’s most famous feature films in their recently restored versions (‘8 ½’, ‘I vitelloni’ and ‘La dolce vita’) and two documentaries (‘Fellinopolis’ and ‘The Truth about La Dolce Vita’) that explore the creative world of one of the greatest directors of all time who pioneered cinema in the second half of the 20th century.

When I make a film I feel healthy, happy, I don’t need anything except sex. I inhabit a dimension in which I am absolved, accepted by life. My crisis begins when I finish it, when I find myself faced with my real-life problems again – God, the wife, women, taxes – until a new light comes on, announcing the start of a new game, and I am absorbed again – Federico Fellini.
