At the Literaturhaus, many friendships have blossomed, such as that between the Sicilian musician Etta Scollo and the German actress Eva Mattes, who celebrated Elena Ferrante together in the summer of 2018.
In the new event organized by the Italian Cultural Institute of Monaco , the two artists take a musical and literary journey to Sicily. Etta Scollo gives her land more than one voice: she allows both famous and unknown Sicilians to speak, telling of sea and land, of beauty and family, but also of danger and struggle, combining these lyrics with her music. The result is a large volume where texts and images are interwoven.
An evening to relive the ‘Voci di Sicilia’ (Voices of Sicily – published by Corso, photography by Antonio Maria Storch, translation from Italian by Klaudia Ruschkowski) in all their facets. With live music by Etta Scollo (vocals and guitar), Eva Freitag (cello) and Cathrin Pfeifer (accordion) and narration by Eva Mattes.
