In conjunction with the opening of the XXI Week of the Italian Language, the Consulate General of Italy in Boston issued a public notice for the participation in a contest dedicated to Dante’s Inferno.

Participants are required to read, interpret, recite or represent in multimedia form a short film of one or more passages freely taken from the first Canticle of the Comedy. The requests and membership requirements are differentiated according to the age of the competitors.

Among the initiatives organized by the Consulate, also a playful exploration of the project ‘Italy. Land of Wonders‘, with the involvement of Boston schools student. Starting in the labyrinths of the videogame, an original project by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Italian course students of ‘Our Lady’s Academy’ in Waltham will explore Florence, Dante’s birth town which became the harsh background to his human, political and poetic story.
