On the occasion of the XXI Week of Italian Language in the World, the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago offers many online contents.

On October 16 ‘Contafavole‘, a fun and engaging puppet show created by the Italian children theater company Teatro Verde in Rome, will be available on vimeo. Ideal for kids who speak Italian and for Italian language learners too.

Dante Plus 700‘, an exhibition including the work of 150 graphic and street artists, featuring installations, performances and augmented reality, will be available starting from October 18

Starting from October 18 the Institute also presents a series of webinars, the first is entitled ‘Dante in the Lab‘. Beatrice Fazio and Tanvi Gandhi, PhD candidates at the University of Chicago, will introduce an exploration of the influence of contemporary physics and medieval literature on each other.

On October 19 during the webinar ‘Dante and Music, Dante in Music‘, the musicologist Lucia Marchi will interview Elena Abramov-van Rijk and Davide Fara on music in the Commedia and on later settings of Dante’s verses from the Middle Ages to Donizetti,

On October 20, a webinar on the occasion of the centennial of Andrea Zanzotto’s birth. Prof. Armando Maggi, University of Chicago, and Prof. Emeritus John P. Welle, University of Notre Dame, will highlight the centrality of Andrea Zanzotto in the history of Italian poetry and investigate the presence of Dante’s oeuvre in his poetics and language.

In the end, from October 22 to 25, the Week of Italian Language program features the online screening of the film “ATLAS”, directed by Niccolò Castelli. The film is presented in collaboration with the Consulate General of Switzerland in Chicago.
