On October 22, on the occasion of the XXI edition of the Week of the Italian Language in the World, a conference to present the audiobook ‘From the dark wood to Paradise‘ – in which some parts of Dante’s masterpiece The Divine Comedy have been translated in Swahili – will be held at University of Nairobi.
The event will be opened by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Nairobi, Stephen Kiama, and will count – among others – the speeches of the Italian actor and artistic director Marco Martinelli, the Italian Ambassador Alberto Pieri and Dr. Alex Wanjala, the professor who took part in the translation of the Swahili version of the audiobook.
The conference will be followed by a reading session of some verses of the Divine Comedy in Italian, English and Swahili, performed by the students of the degree course in Performing Arts and the actor Moses Mwakisha Mwaruma.
