As part of the 21st Week of the Italian Language in the World, on 18 October the Italian Cultural Institute of Marseilles presents the new bilingual edition of the ‘Vita Nuova’, translated by Nacéra Guenfoud-Sairou and Giovanna Paola Vergari with introduction by Donato Pirovano of the University of Turin and published by Laborintus.
On 21 October, the Institute will host the lecture ‘L’alba di un mondo nuovo: il francescanesimo e il rinnovo dell’Ecclesia tra la Commedia di Dante e gli Spirituali di Provenza‘ (The dawn of a new world: Franciscanism and the renewal of the Ecclesia between Dante’s Comedy and the Spirituals of Provence) by Ettore Maria Grandoni, with readings by Elena Santagata and Judith Obert.
From 27 to 29 October, the Italian Cultural Institute of Marseilles (October 27), the Université Aix Salle Plateau (October 28) and the Théâtre du Balcon in Avignon (October 29) host the theatrical performance ‘Vergine Madre‘ (Virgin Mother), in which the actress Lucilla Giagnoni performs passages from six of the most famous cantos of the Divine Comedy.
