The Week of the Italian Language in Montevideo opens on 18 October with the show ‘Donne dantesche’ (Dantean Women), by A.Do. C.
It then continues from 18 to 22 October with 3D digital art by artist Fernando Foglino, consisting of the scanning of the statue of Dante located in the capital.
This is accompanied by a videoconference on 19 October by the Italian language assistant Cristina Dalla Vecchia on the CELI 2 (B1) certification and on 20 October a videoconference with Jacob Blakesley (University of Leeds) on the theme ‘La ricezione globale della Divina Commedia: traduzione e diffusione’ (The Global Reception of the Divine Comedy: Translation and Diffusion).
Also on Wednesday, 20 October Robert Smith’s Concert Symphony No. 1 ‘Divina Comedia’ will be performed by the Banda Sinfónica de Montevideo.
On Thursday 22 October, the Municipal Planetarium will host the lecture ‘El universo de Dante: La Divina Comedia y la astronomia’ (Dante’s Universe: The Divine Comedy and Astronomy), by the Planetarium’s director, Prof. Óscar Méndez.
