The Week of the Italian Language in the World is an event promoted by the diplomatic network and the Italian Cultural Institutes every year in the third week of October around a common theme that underlies the organization of a vast cultural programme focused on the diffusion of the Italian language.
The nineteenth edition of the Italian Language Week in the World is centred on the theme ‘Italian on the stage’, with a rich programme of events and conferences around the world dedicated to music, popular song, theatre, dramaturgy and melodrama.
In addition to the Accademia della Crusca, which publishes a collection of essays on the theme of the event, and the Swiss Confederation, the partners of the 2019 edition include:
the Ministry of Education for the Involvement of Universities and Academies of Art, Music and Dance (AFAM), the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities, which offers the support of its Directorate General for Performing arts.
