This edition was conceived as a tribute to the role that film has played in the evolution of our language and also in the development of our society, told through the events connected to the history of our country.
For the occasion, the Accademia della Crusca published a collection of essays written by linguists who have studied the language of film.
In addition to the Accademia della Crusca and the Swiss Confederation, the partners of the 2017 edition included RAI Italia, the Radio 3 RAI programmes ‘Hollywood Party’ and ‘La Lingua batte’, Istituto Luce Cinecittà, the Fondazione del Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and the Directorate General for Cinema of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and for Tourism.
