The anthology ‘Giovane Poesia Italiana’ (Young Italian Poetry) by the Fondazione Pordenonelegge brings together twenty poets under 40: Gian Maria Annovi, Alessandro Bellasio, Maria Borio, Clery Celeste, Azzurra D’Agostino, Bernardo De Luca, Laura Di Corcia, Tommaso Di Dio, Sebastiano Gatto, Alessandro Grippa, Naike Agata La Biunda, Maddalena Lotter, Daniele Mencarelli, Marco Pelliccioli, Eleonora Rimolo, Greta Rosso, Giulia Rusconi, Francesca Serragnoli, Giulio Viano, and Kabir Yusuf Abukar. These twenty voices come from a variety of geographical and poetic backgrounds and have different intonations, with poetry as their common denominator for recounting their experience of the world.

The book, edited by Roberto Cescon, has been translated into four languages by Francesca Benocci (English), Michele Bevilacqua (French), Marianne Schneider (German) and Antonio Nazzaro (Spanish).

Through a well established collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institutes in Europe and with EFASCE Pordenonesi nel mondo, a four-stage virtual tour to present the anthology began in Berlin:

  • Friday 19 March, from 7 pm (Italian time) | Presentation of the anthology in German in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Berlin.
The video includes speeches by Michelangelo Agrusti, President of Fondazione Pordenonelegge.it; Gino Gregoris, President of EFASCE Pordenonesi nel mondo; Maria Carolina Foi, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute of Berlin; Gian Mario Villalta, Artistic Director of Pordenonelegge; Roberto Galaverni, literary critic, and the poets Maria Borio, Azzurra D’Agostino, Daniele Mencarelli and Giulio Viano. The video is available on the Pordenonelegge YouTube channel.
  • Wednesday 14 April, from 12pm (Italian time) | Presentation of the anthology in Spanish in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Madrid.
Introduced by the director of the Cultural Institute, Marialuisa Pappalardo, the meeting will feature the Spanish academic Leonardo Vilei, professor of Italian language and literature at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and the poet and professor Roberto Cescon, editor of the anthology. Readings by four authors of the anthology are also scheduled: Bernardo De Luca, Tommaso Di Dio, Clery Celeste and Naike Agata La Biunda. The President of Fondazione Pordenonelegge, Michelangelo Agrusti, and the President of EFASCE Pordenonesi nel mondo, Gino Gregoris, will address the meeting. The video is available on the Pordenonelegge YouTube channel.

The next events will be on 10 May in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Paris and on 21 May with the Italian Cultural Institute of London.
