To celebrate the Week of Italian Language in the World, students of the universities in Algeri and Blida performed the show ‘Danteggiando s’impara’, presented on October 24 at the Embassy theatre.
The lecturer Annamaria Poeta (Alger 2 university – faculty of Foreign languages – department of Italian, Spanish and German) directed the show. The theatre laboratory was held in the Italian Cultural Institute of Algiers.
A real challenge for the students, mostly because some of them had never heard of the poet. Therefore, the most familiar Cantos were chosen, namely the first, third, fifth, tenth and twenty-sixth. Some parts of the dialogues were sung, adapting Dante’s verses to the students’ most loved Italian songs.
