‘LS-OSAlab’ and ‘PP&S’ projects for the 2020/2021 academic year.
Two training and refresher courses for science teachers
The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is promoting two training courses for teachers in state and state-authorised private secondary schools, both in Italy and abroad. The courses are dedicated to the development and strengthening of skills in the field of teaching science and mathematics. Both courses will be held online via ad hoc platforms, where teachers can follow the lessons and find detailed material.
The LS-OSAlab national project is being managed by the Roma Tre University in collaboration with the Turin Academy of Sciences and the Galileo Galilei High School specialising in the sciences in Verona; it is designed to support the teaching of Physics and the Sciences, providing teachers with a complete view of basic and advanced topics. By attending the course, teachers receive professional credits that can then be used in the field.
The second project, PP&S – PROBLEM POSING & SOLVING is being promoted by theUniversity of Turin and is dedicated to updating and training teachers of Mathematics and, in general, of all STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). One of the operational objectives of this project is to develop an integrated training initiative that interconnects logic, mathematics and information technology. Teaching activities, on the other hand, are aimed at strengthening the ‘Problem posing & solving’ approach, involving simulations and analysing problems, for the broader purpose of boosting teachers’ computer literacy.
