Perspectives and trends in the teaching of language and culture.
Italian in Australia
A new book (edited by Antonia Rubino, Anna Rita Tamponi and John Hajek, and published by Franco Cesati Editore) explores the position of Italian within the framework of Australia’s educational setting and language policy. Analyses focus on teaching experiences in different educational contexts, particularly in bilingual schools and university teaching.
Among the issues discussed in the various essays, there are the National Curriculum for languages, the bilingual teaching in primary schools, the distance teaching in universities, and the relationships between teaching language and teaching culture.
