A declaration of love for Italian from North Rhine-Westphalia, through video contributions and a closing lecture.
A tribute to the Italian language
The colours of the Italian flag are also found in the coat of arms of North Rhine-Westphalia, a region where many Italians have lived for decades. It is therefore no coincidence that an initiative has been launched that is intended as a declaration of love to the Italian language and culture. Starting from 28 March, every Sunday short videos will be published on various digital channels in which personalities from the world of culture, economy, media and science, as well as many other fellow citizens will narrate moments, stories, discoveries, and feelings associated with their connection with our language and culture.
Promoted by the VDIG – Association of Italian-German cultural societies, active throughout Germany, the initiative will merge with the lecture ‘ITALIEN (ISCH) in NRW: Educazione, cultura, politica ed economia – Dalla tradizione forte verso il futuro!’ (ITALIEN (ISCH) in NRW: Education, culture, politics and economy – From a strong tradition towards the future!).
The final event will take place on 25 September 2021 at the Heinrich-Heine University of Düsseldorf and in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute of Cologne, Deutsch-Italienische Gesellschaft e.V. Düsseldorf, Italia Altrove e.V. Düsseldorf and Leibnitz-Montessori-Gymnasium Düsseldorf. The media partner is Radio Cosmo of the WDR.
