As part of the activities envisaged in the new Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education and VentotenEuropa, renewed on 23 June 2021, the second National Competition ‘Accoglienza, Inclusione e Riconoscimento dei diritti. al Manifesto di Ventotene all’Europa del futuro’ (Reception, Inclusion and Recognition of Rights: From the Ventotene Manifesto to the Europe of the Future) was launched, promoted by MI and the VentotenEuropa business network, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Following  last year’s positive experience, which saw a class from the Liceo A. Einstein in Berlin ranking first in the category of secondary schools, MAECI has decided to extend the new competition to Italian schools abroad, both state and private, to the Italian departments of foreign and European schools, and for the first time also to those in countries outside of Europe. In this way, the aim is to promote the creation of new educational and cultural synergies and to enhance the various components of the Italian educational system around the world, through the bond that unites them in their common sense of belonging to Italy, understood as an integral and constitutive part of the European community.

The initiative is aimed at promoting education courses for global and solidarity citizenship inspired by the Ventotene Manifesto and the values of the Constitutional Charter, highlighting in particular the experiences of pupils/students of schools of all levels with regard to reception, interculturality, inclusion, sharing and the appreciation of diversity.

Participants, grouped into classes and/or individual students, will be free to choose the theme of their works within the main theme ‘From the Ventotene Manifesto to the Europe of the future’ as well as the modes of expression they wish to adopt, such as texts, hypertexts, illustrations graphic illustrations and audio-video.

Interested schools should send their entries along with the participation form by 30 April 2022. The work and the entry form must be submitted exclusively via the worksheet using the following link https://forms.gle/e99tPS3tUaTA43Go7.

The announcement, forms and other information about the competition are available on the website of VentotenEuropa and on the website of the Ministry of Education.
