Categories: Language and education

The project is dedicated to the dissemination of scientific literature. The fourth edition for upper secondary schools is now launched

Premio Cosmos
Premio Cosmos

Promoting scientific culture and the study of Italian language: this is the original formula of ‘Students’ Cosmos Prize’, which is open, also for this edition, to students of the Italian schools abroad.

The initiative  aims to select the best book of scientific dissemination (in the fields of Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics) among five candidates, chosen by a Scientific Committee and proposed to upper secondary schools. The award is promoted by Società Astronomica Italiana (Italian Astronomical Society), Città Metropolitana di Reggio Calabria – Planetario Pythagoras (Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria – Pythagoras Planetary), the Italian Ministry of Education, and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Juries of the involved schools read the five books, vote for one, and then write the related review. As every year, the best reviews will be published on Repubblica.it, and on the Journal of Astronomy of Italian Astronomical Society.

Schools that are interested can register by 10 January 2022. The call, the registration form, and any further information on the prize are available on the official website.
