The Week of Italian Language in Miami
Ib the occasion of the XXI Week of the Italian Language in the World, the Italian Consulate-General in Miami promotes various initiatives, also designed for students of Italian language courses in schools and universities.
Dante’s Anthem
Students in Italian language courses sing in a choir based on the sonnet ‘Tanto gentile e tanto onesta pare’, from Dante’s Vita Nuova. The pianist Barbara Salani guided the students, with the participation of the tenor Carlos de Antonis, and created the education path ‘Teaching Dante’s Anthem’. Video
Dante in the Castle of Castiglione del Terziere, Lunigiana, Tuscany
A journey in the library of the castle, to explore Italian literature, art and music, and the fifteenth-century prints of the Divine Comedy and Vita Nuova. The initiative is promoted by FAU (Florida Atlantic University) – Boca Raton, with Manuela Filomena, Bruno Testa, Barbara Salani, Ilaria Serra, Maria Rosa Borghi.
Fashion of Dante’s time
The Italian Consulate-General in Miami, in collaboration with Marangoni Miami, ODLI (Organizzazione per la Diffusione della Lingua Italiana) and Corsa all’Anello, promotes an exhibition centered on textiles, colours, characters and atmospheres of an ancient time.
