‘Excavation, study and survey of the Roman theatre. Theatre architecture in Africa’.

The Project by the University of Palermo, started in 2007 and led by Prof. Gilberto Montali, in collaboration with the Institut National du Patrimoine de Tunisie, focuses on the excavation, survey architectural study and study of the architecture and materials of the Roman Theatre of Althiburos (Governorate of El Kef, Tunisia). The research also aims to include the monument as part of the Roman theatre architecture of the province of  Africa Proconsolaris, with a view to a proposal for the restoration of the monument, towards the valorization of the entire site.
