The “Don Bosco” Institute has a long tradition: its story began in 1896 with the signing of the contract for the sale of the land on which the Institute was later built, opening its doors to students from the autumn of 1897. Today, the goal of the “Don Bosco” Vocational Training Centre is to prepare young people to enter the labour market effectively, offering technical training and religious and human formation. The “Don Bosco” aims to provide professional training to its young students according to a dual pathway: regular school and a fast-track option with retraining and extracurricular specialisation courses. Classroom lessons follow a basic technical-humanistic cultural approach (foreign languages, mathematics, physics, science, labour law, mechanics, electrical engineering, computer science, electronics, design, industrial organization); the different specialisations are taught in the experimentation and processing laboratories: pneumatics, hydraulics, electro-pneumatics, mechatronics, CNC, AutoCAD, installations and electrical motors, PLC, industrial automation. At the end of the 4 year school programme, students are awarded the Qualification of Electrical Operator and Machine Operator, according to the level set by specific European Community regulations.
