The “Fondazione Torino” was founded in Belo Horizonte in 1975, even before the inauguration of the first Fiat factory in Brazil. The goal was to provide the children of the car manufacturing employees with continuous education at an Italian school. In 1992, from an exclusively Italian school, the “Fondazione Torino” expanded its offer, offering education to Brazilian students in response to the request of the population of Minas Gerais, who recognized it as a reference school. The institution thus became bicultural, with the integration of the Brazilian curriculum. Today, the “Fondazione Torino” is an international school: it follows the northern school calendar (the school year begins in August and ends in June) and offers courses that prepare students for the challenges of the modern world, teaching three foreign languages – Italian, English and Spanish – in addition to Portuguese.
