The Italian Cultural Institute of Kiev (Kyjiv), an official body of the Italian State, aims to promote and improve awareness of the Italian language and culture in Ukraine through the organization of cultural events to promote the circulation of ideas, arts and sciences.
Services
The Italian Cultural Institute in Kiev offers the following services to the Ukrainian public:
- courses in Italian language and culture held by qualified native Italian teachers
- two annual exam sessions to obtain the certificate of Italian as a foreign language
- an Italian library open to students and members of the “Amici dell’Istituto” association for the consultation and loan of Italian books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, journals and newspapers
- Information and documentation on Italian culture
Collaborations
For concerts, some art exhibitions and for major events, the Institute works in collaboration with:
- local art institutions and museums, such as the Khanenko Museum of Arts in Kiev and the Odessa Museum of Western and Eastern Art
- theatres such as the National Opera of Kiev and the Lviv Theatre of Opera and Ballet, the Odessa Philharmonic, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine
- the main cultural institutions of the city, such as the National Academy of Sciences, the National Linguistic University, the Shevchenko National University
and in general with numerous institutions dependent on the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture and the Municipal Authorities of Kiev, Odessa, Lviv (to see a list of the main partners of the Institute, click here.
