Organisation of Taino settlements in the eastern and northern areas of the Dominican Republic

The Mission is aimed at the study of the Taino settlement pattern in the Eastern area (Samanà Peninsula) within the framework of the human peopling of the Caribbean studied through archaeological, archaeometrical, bioarchaeological analyses and ethnohistorical research. Excavations will be carried out in the Samanà area in collaboration with colleagues from the Universities of Merida (Mexico), Vienna (Austria) and Harvard (USA) and the Museo del Hombre Dominicano (Dominican Republic).
