Italian Mission in Puerto Ayacucho (Venezuela)

‘La ciudadanía construye su historia. Reconstrucción del imaginario, uso del espacio y procesos sociopolíticos (siglo XX)’.

‘Circolo Amerindiano’ American Studies Research Centre, Via Guardabassi 10, 06123 Perugia (PG), Italy.

The study, started in 2015 under the guidance of Prof. Romolo Santoni, focuses on the area of Puerto Ayacucho, capital of the Indigenous State of Amazonas, Venezuela. This area is located in a non-oil space, subject to heavy immigration from nearby areas by various members of indigenous peoples. The Project aims to interpret the various forms of citizen action in non-oil spaces in the process of integration and consolidation of the contemporary nation in Venezuela.
