‘The architecture of the caravan routes. Hypothetical recovery of the oasis cities in southern Libya. Ghat, Murzuq, Sebha and Hun’.
Centro Internazionale Studi Architettura e Storia Del Mediterraneo (CISAM), Via Baroncelli 39, 00148 Roma (RM), Italy.
The project was founded in 2002 and led by Dr Khalil Abdel Hadi, with the purpose of creating a database for the conservation of the caravan oasis cities of southern Libya, through the construction of a recovery model. The medinas of Ghat, Murzuq, Sebha and Hun are native settlements, built of unfired bricks, in which the transformations of recent decades have seriously threatened the conservation of the traditional building-architectural elements.
