The “Leonardo da Vinci” Italian nursery school in Paris is a state-authorized private school attached to the “Leonardo da Vinci” Italian State School (the Italian School that combines a primary school, lower and upper secondary school). Located in the same building as the primary school, it is a significant channel for incoming pupils, which is why the 3 sections of nursery school (from 3 to 5 years) offer activities that promote continuity of education.
The nursery school builds its curriculum according to the national guidelines issued by the Italian Ministry of Education (“Indicazioni nazionali per il curricolo della scuola dell’infanzia e del primo ciclo d’istruzione” – 2012), also taking into consideration the French ministerial programmes (“Programme d’enseignement de l’école maternelle” 2015, MEN) and thus proposing bilingual curricular activities, in both Italian and French. The development of bilingualism is considered a precious resource for growth, the successful integration of the children in the host country and the preservation of their native language.
