‘Missione Antonio Raimondi: Ricerche nella Valle del Calchaqui (Salta, Argentina)’.

The research, operational since 2012 under the guidance of Dr Carolina Orsini, is undertaken in the valley of the Calchaqui River, south west of the city of Salta, an area frequented since the Paleo-Indian period (3000 BC). In the short term, four main actions are foreseen: 1) continuation of reconnaissance in the valley of the La Hoyada river and in the Gualfín area;
2) excavation surveys in two Inca structures;
3) analysis and conservation of materials;
4) organization of a dissemination seminar for PhD students and professionals.
