‘ISMEO Archaeological Mission in Pakistan (Swat)’.

Active continuously since 1955 and currently led by Prof. Luca Maria Olivieri, in 2013, the Project in Swat was transferred to the Italian Institute for the Middle and Far East (ISMEO), which inherited the scientific objectives of the former IsIAO. From 2011 to 2016, activities were conducted in collaboration with the Italian-Pakistani ACT project (Archaeology, Community, Tourism) (Dept Swap). In 2015, the Project celebrated 60 years of uninterrupted activity in Swat and in Pakistan. Active in the fields of archaeology, museo-graphics and restoration, it is distinguished by its innovative ‘community archaeology’ approach.
