‘Italian Archaeological Mission in Hierapolis, Phrygia’.

The Italian Archaeological Project has been operating in Hierapolis, Phrygia (Turkey) without interruption since 1957. It is currently led by Prof. Grazia Semeraro. Around 70 people take part in the excavation and restoration activities every year, including researchers, students and technicians from various Italian and Turkish universities. The investigations conducted in the ancient centre and on the main monumental hubs are distinguished by the application of innovative research methodologies.
